What is a good habit? Think long term

How do we know what habits are good and bad for us? Chocolate tastes great today, but the belly doesn’t taste so good later.

Long term thinking is the tool to know what’s good and bad for you.

I’ve seen a model, thinking on the impact of this action in 10 years. I find more helpful thinking this:

What would be the result if I repeated this for 10 years?

When we start a new action, we tend to iterate it, or repeat it with bad habits. Having an extreme approach of repetition is what let’s you stop iterating.

The goal of the iteration is the repetition.

So test the iteration with its goal. If you like the result, keep doing it. If you don’t, iterate.
